I just came across a great article that’s one of the best I’ve seen at explaining what is distance learning. You really should check it out for yourself, but I’ll try and summarize it here for those of you who may be pressed for time.
Distance learning is basically a way to get a college degree without having to physically attend classes. It was pioneered by places like the University of Phoenix, but in the past few years thousands of other “name-brand” schools have added distance learning programs to their offerings. Judging by their popularity, this seems to me like a new trend in how we get our education. Worth a look if you’ve been thinking about going back to school but thought you lacked the time.
